Bill-Allison

Bill Allison founded William Allison and Associates in 1992 in Beaufort, South Carolina. Bill has worked extensively within the community of Beaufort to raise the standard of new design and development as well as aiding in preserving the historic character of the 290-year-old city. Bill has received many awards and his designs have been featured in numerous publications including Southern Living, Coastal Living, and the Traditional Neighborhood Development plan books. Six years after the conception of the firm R. Wayne Ramsey, Jr. (Cooter), AIA, was named partner, and the firm was renamed Allison Ramsey Architects. In June 2004 the firm opened a second office in Asheville, North Carolina.

Allison Ramsey Architects are participating members of the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, National Association of Home Builders, The Congress for the New Urbanism, and Habitat for Humanity. Allison Ramsey is one of the largest firms inhabited by Guild members, with several dozen employees, and are fanatical about their collaborative team approach. Allison Ramsey has worked extensively in New Urbanist developments, building up a large library of house plans designed for Traditional Neighborhood Developments. The firm also consults on and designs for neighborhood and town center commercial and civic buildings. Allison Ramsey has a nationwide practice, but their work is showcased in particular in Newpoint, Habersham, WaterSound, WaterColor and I'On. Many of their most popular designs are also featured in their plan portfolio, Carolina Inspirations.

While Bill is still a partner with Allison Ramsey, he spends most of his time today with Habitat for Humanity. As Director of International Housing Programs, he helps lead the international efforts in housing, slum-upgrading and urban development for Habitat internationally (everywhere but the US and Canada).
