Duncan is the principal of a boutique traditional design firm in the Pacific Northwest. He is highly regarded for his reputable expertise in the practice of traditional architecture, and his design services include a unique set of skills and knowledge required by clientele who have an implicit and earnest desire for architectural quality and style. Every project, regardless of budget or size, is guided by the nonpareil and exemplar beauty and craft found in traditional architecture as a wonderful and creative compliment to our modern lifestyles.
Duncan is well known in the traditional architecture establishment of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. He is a “New Palladian” and a board member of INTBAU-USA. He received training in traditional architecture while studying in both London and Rome, and practiced for the renowned firm, Demetri Porphyrios Associates, in London, England. He holds B.Arch & M.Arch degrees from the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, and is an alumnus of The Prince of Wales’s Institute of Architecture.
Duncan considers aesthetic intelligence in drawing to be the most important working tool of investment quality for building well once again. Only this skill offers the promise of enduring value, beauty and inspiration in architecture, and is thus a sustainable responsibility. Duncan’s design firm has been established and flourishing for over a decade. His work ranges from traditional ecclesial projects, new villages, new urbanism and master planning – to estates, custom houses, country houses, town houses, gardens and interiors. He has exhibited in New York, Chicago, London and Rome, and has been published in various books, magazines, journals and periodicals.
